Oh, really?
Let it be noted that at 6:02pm EDT, on the CBS Radio World News Roundup, the presenter used the word "snarfed" in conjunction with a story on internet fraud.
I have mixed feelings. The pedant in me screams for an editor. The old man in me says, well, "You're an old man". The rebel in me looks on gleefully at Oxford dons spinning in their graves.
Sign of the apocalypse?

As I don't know just what "snarfed" was related to or how it was applied, I cannot say if it was correctly used or if it was an abuse of the English language. However, if it envokes Smurfs dying of extreme suffacation, as it does in my mind, Syliva Plath would approve. As do I. Carry on.
